Pleasant atmosphere, good selection, always friendly service and really delicious food and drinks. The breakfast is probably the best in Jena. Always a well-stocked restaurant, so it's best to reserve.

The food is delicious, the service great, the staff very friendly and the ambience makes you feel right at home. All in all I can only recommend it!

Extremely long waiting time. Have been there for more than an hour and still haven't got anything to eat. If the service doesn't take it, then you can't let in so many guests.

Tested and found good. The atmosphere in the old building is cozy. The schnitzel with horseradish crust was delicious. We will be back.

If you are visiting Jena, be sure to visit this cozy street. We had breakfast here a few times and it was super tasty and delicious. More than enough choice and very generous portions. Take the friendly service and fun. Be on time for the menu because the choice of breakfasts is 'reasonably' large. As a brasserie it is also very tasty with many choices. Our regular stitch in Jena - beware on Sunday they are open quite late - think 9am.

The service was super nice, but everything took a long time. The food was okay, but everything was cold - whether crepes or baked potatoes. We were there around 11am on the weekend and it was very busy.

The ambience is quite nice, but unfortunately that's not enough. As soon as we came in, the waitress was very rude and impatient when we thought about where to sit. There are no descriptions of the dishes on the menu, you have to look at them online. We ordered the same breakfast twice with the same hot drinks, but got two different sizes. The waitress (but not the one who took the order) tried to convince us that we had ordered it that way. She then offered to take back the big coffee, but we didn't want to waste the drink and agreed to keep it. Whether that was the right decision is questionable, because the quality of the coffee was really not good! A real flower coffee! I also think it's natural to serve a glass of tap water with my coffee. Here, € 2 is charged for a glass of water (0.2l). Tap water is not served. The breakfast itself, however, was quite good and sufficient, but due to the service and the very long waiting times I would not go there again and I cannot quite understand the many good reviews.

Based on the good reviews, we decided to go out to eat in a style break. The staff was, however, already annoyed and unfriendly when taking the orders. The breakfast, which came after an hour of waiting, tasted good, but some parts of the order (coffee, rolls) were taken incorrectly. All of this contributed to the fact that we didn't really feel at home and our breakfast experience was rather disappointing.

Great for having a leisurely breakfast with loved ones. The many wasps and sparrows are problematic. Fun fact: the owner puts a fresh croissant out on the street every morning, just for the sparrows. Have a look around on your next visit. You can often see the leftovers 😉 Edit 5 out of 5 stars: Two weeks later, when we asked, the owner looked for the receipt for us, which we did not ask for.

Absolutely unprofessional behavior, paired with questionable statements and an incomprehensible attitude was presented to me as a guest today. The waiter (probably on the first day of work) showered me with beer and wine, with no guilt here (that can happen). After 45 minutes and freshly showered with new things, I was allowed to receive my "free" beer, but unfortunately pay for my promised spice meat ("All dishes are on the house as an excuse") myself. Last but not least, I can now take care of cleaning my things myself and kindly submit the invoice later. Thank you for nothing, dear service staff. My previous recommendations for this place (and quite a few of them have been out in recent years) will only include poison and bile in the future. The owner can contact me personally to discuss the matter again.

A mega cozy restaurant in the center of Jena. The decor ... if you like it, super redro. Cozy inside and out. Just to fall in love with. Conclusion: very, very recommendable. Prices €€ - €€€

Delicious food, friendly staff! One of the best restaurants in Jena, everything from breakfast to dinner and cocktails! We come here very often. It's worth making a reservation, it is often full. If we would like to have a larger selection at breakfast, everything is a typical German breakfast with bread rolls, etc. Maybe offer more variety, also more fruit, muesli variations, various smoothies! Still love the break in style! ;-) Keep it up!

Servers were super nice and helped us get a seat outside. The menu is extensive, but not at all descriptive, so it’s hard to figure out what you want to eat. I ended up getting a dish at random and it was basically just fried potatoes with bits of bacon. Despite people being nice, I wouldn’t go back. There are so many other and better restaurants out there.

Long waiting times, haphazard and unfriendly waiter who "served" the wrong food (salad). Talked to these gentlemen about numbers, then his statement, he knew that he had brought the wrong food Bring lukewarm and small glasses. If you are thirsty, you are practically forced to order several such schnapps glasses, so the bill is also canceled.

Super friendly, attentive and helpful service, exemplary, we immediately felt welcome and cared for. The fritata was delicious and a perfect way to start the day. All the stars in the world for this beautiful place.

Smoked salmon salad and moscow mule are my favourites here. Although it is getting old fashioned to only accept cash now. Wish there was more seating but in the Summer you can always sit outside

Cash only! Sucks. Food was good. Beer selection not great. Only 1 TV for a large outdoor seating to watch the WC 2018 soccer.
